LABORERS - UNSUNG HEROESWe're looking to add to our laborer staff to help shore up our busy workload. Experience is desired but not necessary. You'll be learning from some of the best in their field, with our well-respected, longstanding firm. We work mostly in (and you'd be required to travel to) Washington, Ozaukee, Milwaukee, and Waukesha Counties.
This is an important role, the primary support for our masons. And if you're up to it you'll be building toward a future role with us as a stone, brick, and block mason. Our first choice is always to promote from within, and some of our very best masons started here as laborers. I'm not going to sugarcoat it: this is a hard job. It requires physical strength (ability to lift up to 100 pounds), stamina, a strong work ethic, reliability, accountability, and early morning start times. If you're not absolutely ready to work, this ain't for you. If you are, this is an opportunity grow with and learn from a terrific and talented bunch of guys, in a positive and safe work environment. TO BE CLEAR: we won't tolerate catty, cranky, bossy, or disrespectful behavior, and this applies to co-workers, clients, our management, vendors...everybody. Yes, a lot of places allow that stuff and it's been accepted for a long time in various trades. If any of that sounds like you, be prepared to change to a positive and respectful outlook, or honestly, let's all save some time, and go work somewhere else. You'll need at minimum: -A valid Wisconsin driver's license; -Your own transportation to job sites; -The ability to speak and understand English instructions; -Access to a computer, smartphone, or other device to receive nightly email; -Willingness to take direction and get the job done. We are busy, and growing, with presently no end in sight. But as with all construction work, new hires will have to accept the position with the understanding that we are constantly monitoring our workload, with no guarantees that this will be a permanent position. Most of our guys have been with us over over 10 years and some much longer, and your stay here will certainly relate to job performance and reliability, but also the amount of work we continue to have moving forward. There's more to it than that, but that's the general idea. Thanks for your interest in this position.
